Fans of guitar oriented Art-Rock should take note…this is the 5th cd released under the band name Trance Lucid and it should be set against the 4 solo releases from guitarist Dave Halverson.
The music is the kind that easily falls into the listening scope of prog fans of many stripes.
If we need to define it, let’s say Art-Rock but with many proggy embellishments.
The individual tracks, and there are 15 of them, are all rather short but they weave together very nicely to present something where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
Now you should know that ten of these tracks are meant to work together to form a 32-minute epic based on the title.
As a guitarist, Halverson delivers some interesting riffs and motifs.
It’s not the heavy crunchy kind of guitar; it’s a little more precise and delicate with just enough sound distortion to make it interesting.
And that’s the key word here – interesting – because there are 15 tracks on this disc and there is a different sound on each one.
Add to the guitar some engaging keyboards and I found myself totally immersed in the music. It’s really excellent…
